چکیده
The high rise in the exploration and usage of petroleum products have led to widespread contamination environment. Thence, continuous search for microorganisms with potential mineralize these pollutants is necessary. This study was conducted isolate, identify determine diesel degradation bacteria from oil-contaminated soil collected three filling stations Azare, Katagum LGA, Bauchi State, Nigeria. degrading were identified using standard protocols. isolates screened spectrophotometrically their utilize 1% (v/v) as sole carbon energy source best candidate used determining effect concentration on its biodegradation. results revealed presence bacterial species including Pseudomonas aeruginosa, putida Bacillus subtilis. P. Putida showed highest at 120 h an absorbance 2.27±0.03 600 nm followed by aeruginosa (2.23±0.03) observed 2% least recorded 3% 2.40±0.00, 2.20±0.00 respectively. detection degraders crucial light lingering efficient hydrocarbon bioremediation since degrative capability could be enhanced deployment diesel-contaminated environments.

Screening of Microorganisms Isolated from Petroleum Oil Contaminated Soil for Vegetable Oil Conversion to Bio-diesel
Decreasing fossil fuel stocks has prompted research and development to find alternatives, particularly from renewable energy resources. Lower alcohol, fatty ester called as Bio-Diesel production using vegetable oils with the help of biological catalysts (Lipases) is being considered as one such good alternative. Soil samples in and around petroleum stock processing plant wereused to isolate fun...
متن کاملDiesel biodegradation capacities of indigenous bacterial species isolated from diesel contaminated soil
Petroleum based products are the major source of energy for industries and daily life. Leaks and accidental spills occur regularly during the exploration, production, refining, transport, and storage of petroleum and petroleum products. In the present study we isolated the bacteria from diesel contaminated soil and screened them for diesel biodegradation capacity. One monoculture isolate identi...
متن کاملBioremediation of Soil Contaminated by Diesel Oil
Were evaluated natural attenuation, biostimulation and bioaugmentation on the degradation of total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) in soils contaminated with diesel oil. Bioaugmentation showed the greatest degradation in the light (C12 C23) fractions (72.7%) and heavy (C23 C40) fractions of TPH (75.2%) and natural attenuation was more effective than biostimulation. The greatest dehydrogenase activ...
متن کاملNovel Bacterial Strains Pseudomonas sp. and Bacillus sp. Isolated from Petroleum Oil Contaminated Soils for Degradation of Flourene and Phenanthrene
Flourene and phenanthrene are organic compounds with high hydrophobicity and toxicity. Being recalcitrant in nature they are accumulating in the environment at an alarming concentration, posing serious threat to living beings. Thus in the present study, microorganisms were screened for their ability to degrade these contaminants at high concentrations in least period of time. Two out of fifteen...
